Opal Rod
The Opal Rod is beautiful to look at, and when used, its rock shoots a water-based projectile. Unfortunately, these water projectiles don’t do much in battle because they don’t do a lot of damage unless the enemy is weak to water.
Also, Sidon’s sage ability already gives him a water weapon and gives him the option to protect himself from all damage when he uses it. Because this combo is the same as the other, it is the least interesting, but it is not useless.
This weapon will help you a lot in your quests to help Sidon, even though he has a similar power. When Sidon’s power isn’t working, the Opal Rod should help fill in the holes.
Star-Fragment Rod
The Star-Fragment Rod is by far the most rare of the five special pairings, since Star Fragments are very rare and don’t show up very often in Hyrule. If you can find one of these rare pieces, you might want to save it to put on a Magic Rod.
Even though it doesn’t do much in battle, the Star-Fragment Rod makes light around you that keeps coming back. This power is very helpful when you’re exploring The Depths, where it’s hard to light up the dark places without dozens of Brightbloom Seeds. Even though the light powers that bounce around will be very useful, they won’t help much in battle.
Ruby Rod
The Ruby Rod is a very useful tool and a strong weapon that can be used in battle. Like the other combos, when it is not fully charged, it shoots three projectiles and when it is fully charged, it lets out a ring of fireballs. These fireballs also give off light, though not nearly as often as the Star-Fragment Rod.
This mix is best used to start fires, whether it’s a campfire to cook food over or a fire that burns down an enemy camp. If you set the ground around your enemies on fire, you will burn them and cause them to take damage over time. No matter what kind of trip you want to go on, the Ruby Rod should have everything you need to get started.
Topaz Rod
The Topaz Rod has many of the same advantages in Basket Random as the Ruby Rod, but it also has a secondary effect that is even stronger: it stuns. If an enemy is hit by an electric projectile, they will get shocked and be stunned for a few seconds. During this time, it’s pretty easy to kill them.
The electrical current does a lot of damage, and the Topaz Rod can also light up a place when needed, giving it some great uses outside of battle. When used on water, electricity hurts enemies who are wet. If you are a clever strategist, you can think of other ways to use electricity.
Sapphire Rod
The Sapphire Rod is one of the best weapons in Tears of the Kingdom because it can freeze things and can be used in a lot of different ways. When the Sapphire Rod is fully charged, it will send out a cold blast that will freeze anything in its path.
The freezing bullets will turn the water around you into solid platforms you can walk on. Also, enemies caught in the blast will be frozen solid, just like the ice platforms this amazing rod can make.
Each magical rod has its own special abilities, but the Sapphire Rod is the best because it can freeze, which gives it strong combat and platforming abilities.
